A JUNGIAN REVOLUTION DIARY

A collection of essays dedicated to Woman-Life-Freedom and the #MahsaAmini women-sparked revolution in Iran. My writing weaves together the outer events with personal inner ones, the mythical and archetypal with the historical and political. It is a place where the worlds come together, a place of meaning-making in the midst of turmoil and suffering.

The very act of writing these essays strives to balance the one-sided focus on the outer events as each essay along with the dream-material is drawn from the depths—the “underbelly” of this uprising. Listening to the voices of the unconscious through dreams and mythology can help connect us to the deeper currents that underlie this uprising. In this way, we can contribute to this revolution becoming a cultural renaissance and a rebirth of the collective psyche, of both the Iranian as well as the larger collective.
