Sandplay Therapy for living in the Anthropocene

Working with Sandplay as a non-verbal, tangible and deeply feminine form of therapy has proven to work particularly well for clients suffering from climate anxiety, dread, burn-out, fear and grief for of our time of uncertainty and socio-political collapse and confusion. I offer 12 or 24 sessions to work with Sandplay with a focus on this aspect of psyche’s toil, which to me is a natural and sane response to an incredibly confusing and challenging time we find ourselves in globally. We can also combine this method with traditional Jungian analysis, if desired or needed.

  • Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain.

    Carl Jung

  • I think calling it climate change is rather limiting. I would rather call it the everything change.

    Margaret Atwood

  • Only to the white man was nature a wilderness and only to him was the land ‘infested’ with ‘wild’ animals and ‘savage’ people. To us it was tame, Earth was bountiful and we were surrounded with the blessings of the Great Mystery.

    Black Elk

  • Climate change is global-scale violence, against places and species as well as against human beings. Once we call it by name, we can start having a real conversation about our priorities and values.
